A Study On The Second-Child-Bearing Desire And Its Influencing Factors Of Fertile Women In Guangyuan, Sichuan

Fertility desire is a kind of desire and requirement on the issue of child-bearing, which is influenced by many factors, including social economy, traditional culture, policy, laws and regulations, etc. The implementation of "universal two-child" policy will affect fertile women's fertility desires. It is necessary and meaningful, therefore, to learn about fertile women's fertility desires under the new childbearing policy,especially for those who have had a child. Because of the background above, this research surveyed fertile women's second-child fertility desires and its influence factories through comparative analysis approaches among cities, towns and countries in Guangyuan, Sichuan Province, with regional comparative study appended.This research analyzed Guangyuan city's fertile women's fertility desires for another child in detail from the desired child's number,gender,time and motivation dimensionality.What's more, in the study of the influence factors of another-child fertility intentions, this research discussed mainly from personal, family and social factors, respectively corresponded to microcosmic, medium and macroscopic aspects.Here is the conclusion for fertile women in Guangyuan city: Their fertility desires for another child are generally at a low level; The number of another-child fertility intentions for most of them is one; They have obvious gender preference on their second child; Their ideal birth time interval mainly between 2 and 3 years; The motivation for them to give birth to second child is mainly to meet the emotional needs; Economic pressure and nobody to look after children are the main reason for them to give up having a second child.This study then analyzed the main factors affecting Guangyuan city's fertile women's another-child fertility intentions: Registered permanent residence, degree, age and other individual factors are significantly influenced the number of children and gender preference for fertile women in Guangyuan city; Traditional fertility culture concepts still have a certain influence on fertile women in Guangyuan city; Fertility policy has significant impact on their desired childbearing number of children and gender preference.Finally, we analyzed and discussed the problems found in the process of empirical research, and put forward some related countermeasures and suggestions: Encourage fertile women in Guangyuan city have a second child according to the new birth policy; Build effective mechanism to provide safeguard for them to give birth to their second child; Guide them set up the new concept of fertility.
