Exploration On The Model Of Ethnic Social Work Practice Based On The Theory Of Structural Holes

With the development of society and the deepening of market economy,the ethnic minority areas are facing rapid social changes.It is the development that has brought new dilemma for development of the minority community.People's economic level,ideas and habits are difficult to keep up with the pace of changes anymore.The balances of self-sufficient traditional economic models of the ethnic villages were broken by the waves of market economy.Traditional wisdom was hard to react to the new things and new problems in the outside world.the ethnic minority villages can't respond to the complex relationships of multiple subjects because of their self-closing.It is difficult for them to solve these problems on their own strength.Therefore,there is an urgent demand of ethnic social work practice to us.But,social work is still a new thing in China,which is just under the stage of localization.As a special branch of social work,the ethnic social work,which faces different ethnic groups and social situation,needs a re-localization process to adapt it to the west and rural areas in China.Overall,China's fledgling ethnic social work is lack of experiences and methods in social work practices.So,it is of great significance to develop a practice model to guide social workers' service works,which is helpful to the development of minority areas and ethnic social work practices.Therefore,based on the historical literature review,I tried to comb the current related research results at home and abroad of ethnic social work practice and the ethnic social work practice model,in order to draw lessons from their results and experience.And after combining with social work ethics values and absorbing of the general process model of social work practice,Burt's theory of Structural Hole is be used as my theoretical tool to construct a practice model aiming at guiding ethnic social workers to carry out activities better.Then two empirical cases were showed to verify and improve this model.This model provides two different views and paths to access minority communities as follows: "Attention to Client's Relation Network","Attention to Client's Specific Issues".And in this model,different methods in different situations were list out,which use the Structural Hole as evaluation standard and action tool in social workers' service activities.In the context of the absence of practical experience for reference in ethnic social work,putting forward such a practice model can give out some references and enlightenment to the social workers who work in ethnic minority areas.Of course,for the lack of practical test in a wide range,this model is not very mature and perfect now,which need to be constantly revised and improved in the future practice and research.
