The Practice, Structural Tension And Adaptation Strategies Of Hospitals To Promote Medical Social Work

With the upgrade of China's health care system reform to the healthy China strategy and the transform of "medicalization of life" to "a healthy life",the development of medical social work also encounter new opportunities.However,despite the great social needs and the strong support from government policies,the actual practice of medical and social work in our country is very unsatisfying.Compared with countries and regions with earlier development in the United Kingdom,the United States,Taiwan,and Hong Kong,the application of professional methods and techniques for medical social work is not sufficiently skilled.In many fields,especially the role of the hospital field,it is still not in place and does not play its due role.This article takes the development conditions of medical and social work in four pilot hospitals in Q city as the research object,relying on the medical and social work practice that the author has practiced,through literature research and interviews with a number of hospital staffs,the author believes,the development of medical social work in hospitals has objective needs in improving doctor-patient relationship and improving service quality.But at present,the goal of the transformation of government functions in our country has not yet been fully realized,and the administrative control of public hospitals is stronger,as a public institution,public hospitals are constrained by China's existing institutional framework,mainly manifested as conflict of business functions,unclear management departments,unreasonable operation methods,chaotic employment,and non-standard management systems.The space available for the resources and functions available to professional medical social work is extremely limited,which has hindered the healthy operation of medical social work.This study hopes to use the structural function theory and the equilibrium change theory to conduct in-depth research on the predicament of the development of medical social work.This article believes that measures should be taken to change the operating model of medical social workers in hospitals,to improve the professionalism of medical social workers,to support hospitals in improving their supporting systems,and to increase their sense of identity.We look forward to helping the development of medical social work in hospitals and on such basis,promote the development of medical social work in all areas of society.
