Nowadays,university has been standing in the center of the society and gradually been an engine to accelerate the innovation-driven development of our county.University tends to be a “Service Station” to support the whole socio-economic development for China and plays an increasingly important role in many aspects,such as achieving scientific and technological innovation,promoting regional economic development and enhancing the comprehensive national competitiveness.The traditional development pattern of university is not sufficient to adapt to the knowledge economy in this new era,university needs to transform its development pattern in order to bring out its best and seek for a better opportunity to develop.Entrepreneurial University,which first originated from Europe and United States,is a pattern that can organically connect knowledge and economy.Entrepreneurial Universities,just like the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and the Stanford University,has grown up rapidly and turned out to be the world-class universities.In recent years,since China has been implementing the strategy of invigorating the country through science,technology and education and the strategy of innovation-driven development,many domestic universities started to undertake extensive exploration and trail of Entrepreneurial University,practically and theoretically.In terms of that,researches on Entrepreneurial University have become a hot issue in the field of higher education.Based on the given backgrounds,this paper aims to use literature study,case study and comparative study to induce and summarize the Growth Laws of Entrepreneurial University in order to build up the construction of Entrepreneurial University in our own country.According to the ARWU and QS world university rankings and factors like the regional representativeness and the growth time,this paper picks out Universiteit Twente,Monash University,Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Stanford University as research objectives on the basis of defining the connotation of Entrepreneurial University and the characteristics of the two paths of "revolutionary" and "leading".In the meanwhile,this paper uses the case study method to analyze the four Entrepreneurial Universities respectively in accordance with the basic frame of “the brief introduction of the college--the motivation of transformation--the measures of transformation--the developmental experiences”.This paper especially focuses on inducing and summarizing the successful transformation experiences from the four universities and tries to track out five basic development discipline of Entrepreneurial University,including: Establishing an educational philosophy of serving the society and serving the regional economic development;maintaining close foreign relations and carrying out academic entrepreneurship actively;activating academic heart and strengthening the construction of disciplines vigorously;deepening reform of the internal governance structure and building strong control core;cultivating integrated entrepreneurial culture and developing characteristic entrepreneurial university culture.As an old saying goes,there are other hills whose stones are good for working jade--by observing the practical strategies of Entrepreneurial University in different development paths in China and comparing the strategies with the four cases of foreign universities,this paper could find out the problems existing in the practice of Entrepreneurial University and then put forward some developmental strategies to construct Entrepreneurial University in our country: to renew the management philosophy,establish and persist the Entrepreneurial value orientation and spiritual culture;to improve the internal governance structure and enhance the flexibility and openness of the entrepreneurial development;to strengthen the principal status of school running and sort out the development periphery of the entrepreneurial orientation;to deepen the reform of scientific research system and intensify the demand-orientation and evaluation-guidance in the entrepreneurial development.
