Research On The Construction Of The New Female Of The Green Year Magazine (1926-1938)

From 1920 s to 30 s was a period with rapid social transformation in China.During this period,the elite actively explored the best way to construct female image by means of the newspapers which is well known as public opinion platform.In 1807,Morrison opened its China mission.The western missionaries preached in China,they attached great importance to women's preaching career which committed to construct the new women image.In the Chinese image construction of the Western powers,the YWCA increasingly shows its importance.In 1916,YWCA founded the monthly periodical The Green Year Magazine.With the development of Christianity is accelerating,Christianity is by cure-all grew louder.At this time,The Green Year Magazine pays more attention to the Chinese social reality and weakens its religious color gradually for Chinese constructed the ideal of the new society female image.The Green Year Magazine is the objective of study in this article.I conducted a thorough study The Green Year Magazine background,main content,and show a new image of women in the construction of The Green Year Magazine.The most important,this paper analyzes the effect and defect of the new female image constructed by The Green Year Magazine.This paper consists of introduction,four chapters and epilogue,is divided into 6parts.The introduction mainly discusses the reason of the topic and research status.In Chapter one reveals the basic situation from The Green Year Magazine by means of discussing the background,column setting and purpose,editors and authors,contents,publication.In Chapter two,I analyzed the traditional female image which critique of The Green Year Magazine including independent women,binding women,fallen women.In Chapter three,I discussed the best way to construct female family image and social image.In Chapter four,I concluded and argued for its influence on the construction of the new female image from The Green Year Magazine.In the last charter,it is the conclusion of this paper.
