As an important part of female competitive sports,female football players have attracted the attention of the public rapidly because of their outstanding achievements from 1996 to 1999.However,with the rapid development of new media,the public’s understanding of female football players is not limited to the competitive field.In this paper,the grounded theory and content analysis method are used to analyze the image representation,public image representation and self-image representation of female football players,so as to shape the image of female football players,make the public have a deeper understanding of female football players,and lay the foundation for future research on the image of female football players.The conclusions are as follows:(1)Media image representation of female football players has gone through the changes of "female football players","green girls","heroines","clanging roses",and then "clanging faded roses".The change of title reflects the transformation of female football players from emerging to the peak and then sliding to the trough.(2)The public image representation shows that: on the one hand,when the female football players lose,they are angry and do not fight;On the other hand,when women’s football players achieve ideal results,instrumental representation appears,but at the same time,it affirms the spirit of women’s football players who are not afraid of difficulties and dare to challenge.(3)The self-image representation of female football players shows that:the old and new female football players have dreams,and the old female football players show the competitive image of "biting the tip";The new female soccer player presented herself as a striver with a strong sense of individual heroism.(4)Tree "sonorous rose" brand.It has nothing to do with the ups and downs of achievements,nothing to do with the replacement of the old and the new.The women’s football team from generation to generation is a kind of hard work,positive,never flinching national identity.
