Learning interest is a tendency to students' cognition of learning contents,which is a internal driving force for students' learning activities.Learning interest is a kind of non-intelligence factors,which plays an important role in promoting the development of students.Classroom participation is a series of behavioral,cognitive and emotional performances in class,which has a significant impact on academic achievements.Learning interest can promote the degree of classroom participation,therefore,in this study,the relationship between learning interest and students' participation was analyzed to enrich the studys of senior high school students' interests in learning and classroom participation.In the study,to research students' Biology learning interest and classroom participation,269 high school students from The Foreign Language Experimental School of Suining Middle School finnished two questionnairs,also with classroom observations and interviews.A survey about high school Biology learning interest and the basic situation of students' classroom participation,and the relationship between the two aspects is aimed at cultivating and developing the students' interest in Biology study,providing some teaching strategies for teachers.The results show that:(1)Senior students' interest in Biology learning is not high.There are differences between male and female students,girls' Biology learning interest is significantly higher than boys'.But,There is no significant difference in Biology learning interest level based on grade.Biology learning interest of students at different levels,is extremely significant difference,class level A and B are higher than class level C.(2)The general situation of Senior students' classroom participation is not very satisfactory and there exists difference based on genders.Boys prefer to rely on teachers than girls,girls' emotional participation levels are higher than boys'.There are significant differences between on Senior 1 and Senior 2 in classroom participation.For participation level and achievability,Grade 2 students' is higher than Grade 1 students'.There has obvious differences based on academic achievement.Students of class level A and B obviously prefer to study biology knowledge.Students of class level A are good at using deep cognition strategy than students of class level B and C.Students of class level B and C prefer to rely on teachers.The achievability of Biology Learning,class level A and B are higher than class level,but anxiety is invers.(3)There is a statistically significant positive correlation existed between students' Biology learning interest and classroom participation,and them both affect students' Biological performance.Students' Biology learning interest plays good predictive role for students' classroom participation.To improve students' academic achievements and overall quality of them,teachers can enhance students' Biology learning interest to strength students' classroom participation.
