According To ABC Theory From The Perspective Of Children In Single Parent Family Adverse Emotional Intervention Work

Childhood is an important period for a person's emotional cognition,personal development and the training of related ability.At this stage,it will contribute to children's personal development and the ability to deal with more complicated situation if children can construct a good emotional recognition and cultivate a certain degree of emotional management ability.It also could avoid children's deviant behavior and help children build a good interpersonal relationship and improve the skill of social communication.Single parent families children,in particular,due to various factors,are more likely to produce adverse emotional problems compared with the whole family children.This study based on the theory of ABC,according to the value concept and methods of social work skills,using the method of observation,questionnaire survey method and rating scale method to do a systematic research of single parent families children's unhealthy emotions in A community of Beijing.The team work method is used to analyze related issues.This study analyzes the basic situation of A community and its single parent families children.The result shows that the bad emotions of single parent families children are mainly the feeling of rejection,anger,insecurity,instinct retreat,jealousy,rebellious,selfish and school-weary.Single parent families children may conduct inappropriate behavior during positive emotional experience because of their irrational beliefs.These emotional problems are mainly resulted from the influences of their own subjective feeling,family upbringing,schools,peer groups and the social public opinion.It also suggests that single parent families children are more likely to have irrational beliefs-the absolute requirement,overly generalization and bad evaluation.It is because of unreasonable,irrational beliefs,single parent families children will form the bad mood problems when an event occurs.In this case,it is necessary to combine the ABC theory with single parent families children's bad emotions research.The author,which is based on community,taking group work as the main way,in the purpose of improving the single parent families children's emotional cognition and emotion management ability,according to requirements and characteristics of single parent families children,with the professional social work skill of the fusion of empathy and self motivation,provided the professional social work service in A community.Through the analysis of the observation and the result of the questionnaire,the purpose of management team is achieved,the team has found at least a method to vent the bad emotions.In addition,the results show that the development of the team is good.The team members not only understand their own emotions and improve the management ability but also understand the emotions of others which will be good for their social communication.However,the skill of vent pressure of these team members are still need to improve.This research has got the following experience and lessons.Firstly,the group work should introduced incentive mechanism to improve efficiency.Secondly,it is really important for a team to work together and make the work effective.Thirdly,social workers should control the single section group activities'time flexible and make the single section group activities effective.Finally,the group work should have focus of the diversity.This study still need to improve.Firstly,the professional social work skills need to improve.Secondly,this study cannot focus on each team member.Thirdly,it has some defects on the design of the questionnaire.Fourthly,the sample selection is not good enough.Finally,the integration of social resources need to improve.In addition,this study found that ABC theory has some deficiencies when using in practical situation.Firstly,it is difficult to distinguish rational and irrational beliefs.Second,the audience is limited.Third,the lack of professional rating standard about emotions.Due to the short duration of team work,school-age children's cognitive level is limited,there is no efficient mechanism to strengthen their ability,the single parent families children's sustainability of management of undesirable mood is very limited.Therefore,the author thinks that in addition to the group activities in the promotion of children,it still need outside forces involved.Firstly,after this social activities,social workers should adhere to the basic principles of social work and provide follow-up service for these families.Secondly,as a result of the professional of social work,the auxiliary may not professional enough to help the service object,which requires a social worker provide related training for the auxiliary.Finally,social workers should try their best to connect social resources,guide the public opinion toward a positive direction.
