Vocational education is an integral part for both national education system and human resources development.Throughout the educational system,it is in most closely contact with the social-economic world.Having experienced both decline and expansion in the 21 st Century,the vocational education in China now is tending towards stability and its scale accounts for almost half of the Chinese schools and universities.Taking all factors as a whole,it can be concluded that vocational education has transformed from “scale expansion” to “quality improvement”,in accordance with the theme of “reform for development and improvement” in the present era.As required by economic transition and social development of Guangdong Province,this research has made a comparative analysis of vocational education in its new characteristics,new laws and new demands under the background of constructing modern vocational education system.It selects Guangdong X Vocational School as its subject to explore challenges,problems and tasks confronting the school after the construction of national demonstrative vocational school.By summarizing existing problems impeding the school's development,a systematic analysis of how to help vocational schools adapt to the change of employment market and achieve differentiation development has been carried out.This dissertation has also employed various research methods like field survey,case analysis,literature review and horizontal comparison.Based on qualitative and quantitative analysis of collected statistics,practical suggestions on how to implement differentiation strategy are put forward for X School from perspectives of curriculum provision,teaching staff construction,training base construction,educational reform,social services and construction of campus culture.In this dissertation,management strategy has been employed to form new product and custom concept for vocational education.Starting from modern vocational education,it is market-oriented and has chosen a specific school for the research on differentiation strategy.Some practical countermeasures have also been put forward for policy implementation to provide reference for government's decision-making,schools' construction and corporates' employment.It aims at promoting the sustainable development of national demonstrative vocational schools and making positive contribution to the economic and social transition of Guangdong province.
