Physical chemistry is the study of the principle of chemical behavior of all material system, rules and methods of discipline, which plays a very important role in the high school chemistry teaching. The relation between physical chemistry knowledge system and the electrochemistry teaching in high school is explored in this thesis. This paper concerns mainly about the application of physicochemical knowledge in problems solution, chemistry competition and experiment investigation of middle school electrochemistry teaching. On basis of consulting related documents and literature,it was analyzed about the course system and content of physical chemistry, the ways to teach in high school chemistry. And the internal relationship between them was presented. Moreover,we sorted and elaborated the physical chemistry content which is available to the electrochemistry teaching in high school. Some problems(such as anionic and cationic discharge sequence problem)of electrochemistry teaching in high school were explained through the basic principle and method of physical chemistry. This thesis offered some valuable reference for chemistry teachers. The electrochemistry knowledge and the knowledge level of chemistry competition was summarized through analyzing for the National Chemistry Olympiad(Preliminary)test for nearly 10 years, and physicochemical content related in electrochemistry competition in the form of table was compiled. Then, the teaching case was designed to explore how to impart the physicochemical knowledge at the chemistry competition class. Finally, this paper took for exaple, improve the experiment of the electrolytic copper chloride solution. The application of physical chemistry knowledge in high school electrochemistry experiments was discussed.
