The Research Of Mei Yiqi's General Education Thought And The Enlightenment

Since the reform and opening up,“general education” frequently appeares in some of our mainland researchers in the field of vision.Since the reunification of Hong Kong in 1997,the mainland,Hong Kong and Taiwan held a number of seminars on general education,which all contributed to the rapid dissemination of the concept of general education in China.Since 1999,higher education in China begins to expand enrollment and enters the stage of development.After entering the 21 st century,some universities in our country begin to use “general education” in the undergraduate course and there are two ways: “general education elective” and “general education personnel training mode”.The general education of China's higher education is still faced with many difficulties and challenges though many colleges have taken measures to solve the problems.Therefore,it is indispensable to deepen the exploration and study of the development and practice of general education,to learn the successful experience of predecessors' practice and implement it into contemporary higher education.Firstly,the paper studies Mei Yiqi's general education thoughts,mainly through the literature research method,the historical research method and the comparative research method of Mei Yiqi's general education thought formation and development,the proposition and the connotation,the practice and the experience in order to analyse and summarize the content.Secondly,the paper tries to master the status quo of the development of general education in contemporary higher education and find a series of problems of it by the methods of interviews,case studies and so on.Finally,the paper studies the thought of Mei Yiqi's general education in order to explore the way that is suitable for the development of contemporary higher education,and makes the theory and practice preparation for the better implementation of general education and cultivation of all-round development talents.
