| With the development of society and the improvement of people’s living standard,everyone begin to pursue ‘happiness’.College students being young and active,to study college students’ subjective well-being is meaningful,which can help them enhance their survivability and promote national harmony.The rapid growing WeChat,not only enrichs the way of making friends,but also changes student’s cognitive behavior and influences the well-being.Therefore,under the background of new network media,researching college students’ subjective well-being and building the college WeChat usage students’ subjective well-being model,can not only enrich the theory achievement,but also help us deeply understand the factors influencing college students’ subjective well-being,which help them use media to improve subjective well-being.This paper,based on ’uses and gratifications theory’ and adaptation theory,aims to explore college WeChat user’s subjective well-being model.The work is mainly composed of two aspects:The first part is on developing WeChat Usage Scale for university students,which based on literature study and questionnaire.510 students from four universities were asked to complete the questionnaire,and then the questionnaire’s structure were tested by exploratory factor analysis(EFA)and confirmatory factor analysis(CFA).The results showed that the WeChat Usage Scale comprised ten questions and three dimensions: social connection,satisfaction of need,and dependency.The Cronbach’s α coefficients were 0.658-0.828.Further analysis found that the correlation coefficients among three dimensions were not high,but the correlations between the factors and total score were strong.Conclusion: Reliability and validity of the WeChat Usage Scale meet the need of the psychometrics standard.WeChat Usage Scale for university can be as an effective tool for measuring college students’ use of WeChat.Finally,chapter four verified the influence of demography variables to the three dimensions scale,and the study found that gender,grade,place of residence(urban rural)had a significant impact on WeChat usage.The second part is to explore the mediating role of WeChat usage in college students’ life satisfaction and interpersonal relationship.The participants were asked to complete Satisfaction with Life Scale,Affect Balance Scale,Adolescent Life Event scale,Adaptation of WeChat Usage Scale.SEM evidence supports the stimulation hypothesis.Namely,life events and WeChat usage have significant correlation between each dimension of subjective well-being.Meanwhile,When exploring the mediating role of WeChat usage,the impact of interpersonal relationship on life satisfaction is not very obvious,but through WeChat usage strength the indirect impact.The results are discussed in terms of psychological needs theory. |
