The Effect Of Life Events On Social Anxiety Among Left-behind High School Students:The Mediating Role Of Fear Of Negative Evaluation And The Moderating Role Of Friend Support

Life events are important factors affecting adolescent mental health,which not only aggravate adolescent fear of negative evaluation,but also lead to a series of psychological problems such as social anxiety.Therefore,the relationship between adolescent life events,fear of negative evaluation and social anxiety has attracted the attention of researchers.As a component of social support,friend support may alleviate the negative impact of negative factors on mental health,but for left-behind and unleft-behind high school students,can friend support effectively buffer the negative impact of life events? The question remains to be further explored.This study will stay high school students（n = 667）and non left-behind students（n =339）as the research object,using the questionnaire survey to explore the two groups in life events,negative evaluation,social anxiety and fear friends support characteristics and differences,analyzes the negative fear in the intermediary effect between life events and social anxiety,This paper studies the moderating effect of friend support on the relationship mentioned above and obtains some research results.（1）Life events suffered by left-behind and unleft-behind high school students are significantly different,and left-behind students are significantly higher than unleft-behind students.（2）Compared with unleft-behind high school students,left-behind high school students have higher levels of negative evaluation fear and social anxiety;In these two groups,the level of fear of negative evaluation and social anxiety of girls is significantly higher than that of boys.（3）In both types of high school students,fear of negative evaluation plays a partial mediating role in the influence of life events on social anxiety.（4）Among left-behind high school students,friend support moderates the influence of life events on social anxiety.Compared with low friend support,life events have a greater influence on social anxiety with high friend support.And when life event’s influence on social anxiety is a negative evaluation of mediation,fear friends support is still only in the direct path on the impact of life events on social anxiety adjustment role,namely compared with low friends support,life events had a great effect on social anxiety of high friends support,conforms to the social support of reverse buffer model.Among the unleft-behind high school students,the moderating effect of friend support was not significant,which was consistent with the main effect model of social support.
