A Study On The Status Quo And Utilization Efficiency Of Tennis Resources In Shandong Colleges

Tennis,characterized by its profound cultural heritage as well as being elegant and stylish,has won the favor of college students on the grounds of meeting their pursuit for both fashion and health.At present,most of the colleges and universities in Shandong Province offer the tennis course which greatly promotes the development of tennis there.This paper investigates the status quo and use of tennis resources in Shandong's colleges and universities.By means of literature survey,questionnaire,interview and the method of mathematical statistics,this paper studies the status quo of tennis resources in 10 undergraduate colleges and universities from the eastern,middle and western areas of Shandong Province.Meanwhile,it evaluates the utilization efficiency of tennis courts and the teaching efficiency.Then,the paper analyzes the existing problems and puts forwards some feasible solutions so as to provide suggestions for a better development and utilization of tennis resources in Shandong's colleges and universities.On the basis of the investigation and analysis,it can be concluded that:1.Although more and more tennis courts are built in Shandong's colleges and universities,its average per capita fails to meet the relevant requirement set up by the Ministry of Education.Therefore,it is urgent to speed up the construction of tennis courts and equipments through multiple channels.2.Since the utilization efficiency of either free tennis courts or those that are charged is very high,the key then lies in how to balance the functions of serving students and public.Besides,it is suggested that courts should also be opened after class.3.Despite most of colleges and universities in Shandong Province offer tennis course,the teaching hours are not that enough and the teaching materials are various in fact.In addition,the teaching effect in some colleges and universities is relatively poor due to the courts,the limited level of teaching staff together with the unreasonable arrangements of teaching materials.4.The tennis teaching staff is not professional enough in Shandong Province,so it is necessary to introduce more faculties with expertise as well as strengthen the training for on-the-job tennis teachers.5.Since the tennis resources in Shandong's colleges and universities are mainly confined to the campus,it is strongly suggested that Tennis Association on campus should try its best to stimulate the enthusiasm of all faculties in participating in tennis activities,including the organization and management of Tennis Association.The fact is that most of the colleges and universities in Shandong haven't established any high level tennis team,let alone exchanging with each other by holding competitions.6.The management departments in most colleges and universities haven't recognized the importance of tennis sports on campus.Thus,the propaganda of tennis culture needs to be vigorously promoted in order to win more supports.
