There are much more international communications due to the globalization of economy.As the international language,English becomes more and more important and the requirements to English ability is higher and higher.However,because of the long time influence of exam-oriented education,spoken English teaching in our country is far behind and the students' spoken English level is generally not high which can not meet the need of the economic and social development,especially in senior high schools.So how to improve senior high school students' spoken English is a very important subject today.Meanwhile,more and more people are concern about ecology crisis,and with the theme of “green,harmonious,balance,sustainable”,ecology has pervaded into many fields which provides people with a new perspective to do research.Ecology also supplies a new perspective to education study.The purpose of this thesis is to bring ecological classroom into English class in senior high school to improve students' spoken English ability.There are two questions to be solved in the thesis: what is the current situation of spoken English teaching like in senior high school? Can English ecological classroom be helpful for students to improve their spoken English ability? If can,how? The document-data method,the classroom observation,the questionnaire survey,the experimental approach and the interviewing method have been used in the research.In order to finish this thesis fluently,the author made an literature review before the research to know more about the relevant theory and research.In the literature review,the author made definition for the key words like ecology,ecological classroom and spoken language,besides,the author made review on the research on spoken language teaching and ecological classroom abroad and at home respectively.To finish the research,first,with the help of the classroom observation and the questionnaire to the teachers and the students in Ganxian High School,the author found the problems existing in the current situation of spoken English teaching and learning in senior high school.Secondly,through the experiment,the author found how to help students improve their spoken English ability by creating English ecological classroom.There were pre-test,post-test and the classroom observation during the experiment,interview after the experiment to see the effect of the experiment.Four aspects were concerned in the experiment: physical environment,psychological environment,humanistic environment and the second-classroom environment.Next,from the data analysis of the experiment,we found that the creation of ecological classroom can improve students' spoken English effectively,the students' interest and desire in learning can be aroused and at the same time.Meanwhile,during our teaching process,some principles must be obeyed: the principle of life,the principle of harmony,the principle of diversity and the principle of sustainability.Eventually,there are still some limitations and expectations in order to get further study in near future.
