Chinese martial arts is an outstanding cultural heritage of the Chinese nation which showing a distinct national cultural characteristics.It is an important part of the Chinese national culture.Martial art is a form of confrontation.The actual display of its attack and defense content is particularly prominent.The development of free combat in universities is an effective way for college students to understand the national sports events.It has a unique and positive role in cultivating students' willpower,improving students' physical quality,enhancing students' physical fitness and improving their self-protection ability.At this stage,many universities have set up a public course of free combat project which has made some achievements in the promotion of free combat and the cultivation of students.Because of the influence of school elective system,school support and teachers' ability,we should strengthen the teaching reform of free combat public course and develop its special characteristics to achieve the teaching objectives.In order to promote the teaching reform of public physical education,improve the quality of physical education teaching and provide a theoretical basis and educational practices,we research expectations of free combat students of public physical education and give corresponding countermeasures and suggestions.Based on the study of the students' expectation of free combat class,we have the follow results.First,the influence of the school selection model leads to the unsatisfactory course selection.The content of free combat physical education required by students has its own emphasis.About 60% students expect the classroom activity arrangements can be mainly based on game practice.Students expect reasonable class exercises,intensity and density arrangements.The students pay more attention to the achievement of study assessment,and some of them point to academic achievement.The popularity of free combat in our university is not high,which affect the expectations of the students.The influence of objective environment factors,such as the low degree of interest of students in free combat class,and the enthusiasm of taking initiative to classroom learning,are not very high,which directly affect students' expectation of free combat class.Most of the students expect to learn the skills of free combat attack and defense and improve the actual combat ability.About40.74% of the students want to learn the offensive and defensive technology.Second,the main influence of the public physical education students' expectation includeschool elective system,students' perception ability,personality characteristics,student gender,achievement evaluation,teacher factors,project popularization degree.Third,according to the expectation theory of organizational behavior reason hypothesis theory,the students' specific classroom expectations can be classified as students' expectations attitude,requirement and target location.Fourth,there are many researches on the current situation of students' expectation in free combat class.Through the understanding of the students and the classification of expectations,we should strengthen students' archives establishment.We should optimize the course selection mode and strengthen course guidance.We should arrange the teaching content,teaching methods and the amount of exercise reasonably.We should improve the site equipment and beautify the classroom environment.We should enhance the operational capacity and quality cultivation of teachers.We should strengthen the promotion and publicity efforts and increase the intensity of support for the project.We should strengthen the popularization of free combat and culture reform.We should improve the performance appraisal.
