With the implementation of reform and opening up policy,China's comprehensive national strength has increased dramatically, people's per capita disposable income grows year by year.China's economy amount ranks second in the world, however, people's wellbeing level is backward obviously. As China has reached the New normal Economy, traditional manufacturing has faced many challenges, cultural consumption has become the new economic growth point.Based on this background,we try to discuss the effect of culture consumption on wellbeing.Using Chinese General Social Survey(2013)Data,We use Ologit regression method to identify coefficients and its significance, then conduct the difference test through gender classified samples and urban and rural classified samples. Then we test the robustness of the empirical conclusion through income narrow sample. Finally,we analyse the mediation effect. We find that culture consumption frequency has positive effect on wellbeing, which is also significant, either enjoying listening to music or enjoying reading can significantly improve people's wellbeing, enjoying listening to music has relatively large effect than the effect of enjoying reading. The effect of culture consumption on wellbeing have urban and rural differences, for urban residents, enjoying listening to music has relatively large effect, for rural residents, enjoying reading has more lifting effect. The effect of culture consumption on wellbeing is different in different gender, specifically, comparing with men, enjoying culture consumption has larger positive effect on women.Enjoying culture consumption has mediation effect, the percent of mediation effect on total effect is 4.89%,meanwhile,enjoying listening to music has no mediation effect.Based on the conclusion,we try to give some policy suggestions.
