The study about cultivating students' ability to ask questions through chemistry classroom has attached more and more attention.However,current researches and classroom practices mainly focus on the topic that teachers ask questions,and researches on the topic that students ask questions are few,its lacking systematic investigation and study.Therefore,the author takes this topic as the starting point to carry out the research.The first part in-depth analyzes the background and significance of students asking questions,to determine contents and objectives of the study through the background of students asking questions,and analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of the application of KWL model in chemistry classroom through literature review method,educational experiment method,questionnaire survey method,case study method and interview method.The second part defines related concepts,expounding current research situation and theoretical basis of KWL model and questioning ability,including the theory of constructivism,the theory of Proximal Development Zone and heuristic teaching,to lay a foundation for proposing educational theories.The third part mainly investigates current situation of students' ability to ask questions,and conclusions drew from investigation results are as follows: first,students do not have deep interests in studying chemistry and lack the consciousness to ask questions voluntarily;second,students' language ability is poor,so they do not know how to express when encountering questions;third,the type of questions that students ask is relatively single,most of which are about the knowledge they could not understand at classroom.The fourth part studies teaching practices,selecting research subjects from Chapter Three and Chapter Four of the textbook of chemistry 1(PEP Edition)of ordinary high school according to the principles and procedures of KWL model,to carry out KWL mode-based teaching design research and practices.The fifth part analyzes implementation results.In this experiment,KWL model teaching achieved better effect.The KWL model teaching stimulated the students' interest in learning and improved their ability and level to ask questions.At the same time,this paper discusses problems existing in the experiment and puts forward effective measures to optimize KWL model-based teaching.
