With the advent of the knowledge economy, knowledge is considered a source of competitive advantage. How to carry on knowledge innovation and improve knowledge innovation performance are more and more attention.Tourism is a sunrise industry, the related research is late.Tourism industry is also a comprehensive industry, involving a wide range of aspects.According to the statistics,we find that the cooperation between scholars in tourism has become the mainstream, and the cooperation of international research is more prominent. So,what kind of impact does the research collaboration of tourism teachers on knowledge innovation performance play? How to effective improve the research team and personal performance, which is worth conducting in-depth study. This paper studies the impact of knowledge diversity and cooperative network on the performance of knowledge innovation. On the basis of literature review,we use the team theory, knowledge flow theory, social network theory and information resources theory as the basis of the hypothesis of the impact of teachers' scientific research cooperation network on knowledge innovation performance. And we construct the model of the influence of teachers' scientific research cooperation network on knowledge innovation performance. Then,we select four cross-strait scholar published articles from 1983 to 2015 in 22 kinds of journals of tourism in SSCI database for the study. These data are carried on uniformization, after that the institutions are ranked by the knowledge innovation performance to select 511 tourism teachers published articles as a research sample whose colleges and universities have high knowledge innovation performance ranked in top 30.We use the methods of social network analysis, principal component analysis, correlation analysis, regression analysis etc.to conduct the empirical analysis. This study uses the Shannon index to compute the knowledge diversity of tourism teachers' collaborators. In addition, the cooperative network indicators are divided into indicators of network relationships and network structures, and choose tie strength as network relationships' index, and the density, group centrality and structural holes as relationship structures' indexes. The next,we use the number of published articles, papers published journal impact factor, the author order to measure knowledge innovation performance. The results show that: first one, knowledge diversity has a significant positive impact on the performance of knowledge innovation,in which the sector knowledge diversity has the greatest impact on knowledge innovation performance.Secondly, the tie strength has an inverted U impact on knowledge innovation performance.Thirdly, network density has a very significant negative predictive effect on knowledge innovation performance.Fourthly, network centrality and structural hole has a very significant positive predictive effect on knowledge innovation performance.Fifthly, knowledge diversity strengthens the inverted U relationship between the relationship strength and the knowledge innovation performance.Sixthly, the diversity of knowledge strengthens the negative effect of network density on knowledge innovation performance, and enhance structural hole positive effect on knowledge innovation performance, however don`t mediate centrality effect. Finally, this paper discussed the results and pointed out the limitations and the directions of future research. In the end, based on the conclusion of the study and current situation of scientific research in tourism, the study puts forward the systematic countermeasures to strengthen the development of the scientific research team of the tourism subject in China from the individual level, the team level, the school level and the national level.
