In the new economic era,it is because of the acceleration of knowledge update, the shortening of product life cycle and the pressure brought by the development of Internet technology, innovation has become one of the most key factors to individuals, enterprises and even to the country.Since talented persons are the foundation of innovation development, individual knowledge innovation naturally attracts the attention of scholars.Traditional researches on individual innovation mainly focus on individual cognitive attributes and characteristics, emphasizing that only because individuals who have extraordinary intelligence or other special qualities can propose creative and forward-looking solutions. However, innovation is not an isolated process. Most innovative achievements are completed in the process of interpersonal communication and cooperation, relying on the connection between individuals. Therefore, individuals are embedded in the social network of collaboration between researchers and are in a certain network position. How does collaboration network position affect individual knowledge innovation? What is the mechanism? Can individual take advantage of the resources and opportunities as long as he occupies a particular network position? These questions are worth further discussing and exploring. In order to reveal the mechanism of collaboration network position on individual knowledge innovation more accurately, this paper uses knowledge acquisition as a mediator variable to explore how structural holes and network centrality within collaboration network affect individual knowledge innovation differently based on the theory of social network. At the same time, combining the network features with individual inherent attribute features,we use the past performance as the agent of individual ability attribute differences, and construct a second-stage moderated mediation model.Besides this paper selects 8,579 patent data of China's fire protection industry from 2005 to 2012 as the sample source, applying Matlab2016 a and Ucinet6.5 tools to build the collaboration network among the inventors.Combined with correlation analysis, hierarchical regression,Bootstrap test and other methods, empirical test was conducted for the 10 hypotheses in this paper, and the following main research conclusions are finally obtained:(1)Both the collaboration network structure holes and network centrality have significant positive effects on individual knowledge innovation;(2)Individual's knowledge acquisition through network relationship has a significant positive effect on individual knowledge innovation;(3)Past performance positively moderates the relationship between knowledge acquisition and individual knowledge innovation. The higher the past performance, the stronger the positive effect of knowledge acquisition on individual knowledge innovation;(4)Knowledge acquisition plays a mediating role between both two kinds of collaboration network positions, including structure holes and network centrality, and individual knowledge innovation, and the mediating effect is positively moderated by the past performance. Our research conclusions not only enrich the theoretical research system on individual knowledge innovation, but also provide ideas for future social network research. In practice,it is necessary for individuals to understand the value of dominant positions in the network correctly, cultivate open thinking, and focus on the improvement of self-ability.For enterprises,it is important to control the key role in the organization reasonably, pay attention to the importance of informal organization, and cooperate with formal organizational system to promote the promotion of knowledge innovation performance.
