| The professional consciousness of preschool teachers is the awareness that will help teachers correctly understand preschool education and actively carry out professional activities.It is also the internal driving force for teachers to pursue professional development.The level of teachers’ professional consciousness will directly affect teachers’ professional ability and occupation maturity.This paper studies the professional consciousness of preschool teachers and other relevant issues by collecting data from 418 preschool teacher participants in Baoding’s 18 kindergartens of municipal,county,and village level through questionnaires and interviews.SPSS22.0 is used to conduct variance,correlation and regression analysis of data to reveal the development of teachers’ professional consciousness in Baoding.On the basis of an in-depth literature review and my own working experience,I propose five factors that affect the professional consciousness of kindergarten teachers,which include “leaders”,“organization culture”,“incentive and evaluation mechanism”,“continuing education” and “kindergarten support”.In addition,five dimensions that are divided into thirteen aspects are also analyzed thoroughly.This study indicates that the professional consciousness of preschool teachers in Baoding possesses the following features: the overall level of preschool teachers’ professional consciousness is above the average,but certain numbers are below the average;the level of teachers’ professional awareness needs to be further improved;the influence of individual background on preschool teachers’ professional consciousness is different dramatically.The relationship between kindergarten and the professional consciousness of teachers is as follows(1)The five dimensions of kindergarten’s influencing factors are significantly related to teachers’ professional consciousness;four dimensions have different degrees of correlation with professional consciousness.(2)Leaders’ attention is closely related to teachers’ professional consciousness.As to kindergarten cultural factors,interpersonal relationship and related professional consciousness are closely related.As to the incentive and evaluation mechanism,incentive methods and means are closely related to professional consciousness.As to continuing education,scientific research is closely related to professional consciousness.As to the support system,time support is closely related to professional consciousness.(3)A regression analysis of 13 variables reveals that the most important factors that affect the development of teachers’ professional consciousness are kindergarten’s time support,education and scientific research,management,evaluation system and incentive methods.Therefore,this paper puts forward suggestions and strategies to improve the professional consciousness of preschool teachers from the perspective of teacher,kindergarten as well as relevant departments.They are as follows: providing time for teachers’ professional development;enhancing the effectiveness of education and scientific research;improving the professional quality of kindergarten’s leaders,putting democratic leadership into practice;establishing evaluation mechanism;combining a variety of incentives;establishing and improving the mechanism of awards and subsidy;strengthening the professional quality of the teaching and research staff in the higher authority. |
