Alfred North Whitehead is a famous British mathematician,educator and founder of process philosophy in the 20 th century.His thought of educational rhythm is derived from his process philosophy and has important theoretical and practical value.While there are few papers on applying Whitehead's thought of educational rhythm to mathematics teaching in junior high school.In order to thoroughly study Whitehead's thought of educational rhythm,this paper analyzes six principles related to it,especially for the intension of it.From the perspective analyzes some problems existing in mathematics teaching in junior middle school in China.The problems are as follows,the formulation of stylized teaching objectives neglects the inspiration of students' undefined romantic spirit.The compilation of subject-oriented teaching content despises the students' undefined systematic knowledge of the precise stage.The use of mechanical teaching method limits the development of students' undefined comprehensive application spirit.On the basis of Whitehead's thought of educational rhythm,this paper puts forward the corresponding solutions.That is,teaching objectives should be expressed flexibly,so that students can grow romantic spirit.The compilation of teaching content should be flexible so as to make mathematics knowledge system occupy a certain position.The selection of teaching methods should be multi-element,so that students can use the spirit of comprehensive application gradually.This study is divided into five parts,the specific contents are as follows.The first chapter is the introduction.It mainly includes the reason of choosing the topic,literature review,definition of concept,main content,research method and innovation and so on.The second chapter is to introduce the theoretical basis of Whitehead's thought on the rhythm of education,Including the principle of prehension,principle of subjective form,principle of internal prescribed and external freedom,principle of relativity,principle of process and principle of creativity.The third chapter is to introduce Whitehead's thought of educational rhythm.including Whitehead's criticism of common sense.Whitehead believes that the process of intellectual development is a triple rhythm composed of romantic,precise and comprehensive use.Education should keep pace with the development of students undefined intelligence.The fourth chapter is the main problems existing in the mathematics teaching of junior middle school in our country.The problems are as follows,the formulation of stylized teaching objectives neglects the inspiration of students' undefined romantic spirit.The compilation of subject-oriented teaching content neglects the students' undefined systematic knowledge of the precise stage.The use of mechanical teaching method limits the development of students' undefined comprehensive application spirit.The fifth chapter is how to solve the problem of mathematics teaching in junior high school under the thought of educational rhythm.On the basis of Whitehead's thought of educational rhythm,this paper puts forward the corresponding solutions.That is,teaching objectives should be expressed flexibly,so that students can grow romantic spirit.The compilation of teaching content should be flexible so as to make mathematics knowledge system occupy a certain position.The selection of teaching methods should be multi-element,so that students can use the spirit of comprehensive application gradually.
