The " Practice and Synthesis " activity is an important part of the course content of the compulsory education mathematics curriculum standard(2011 edition).It can not only help the students master the theoretical knowledge,but also improve the ability of students,for instance,the ability to use knowledge flexibly to solve practical problems,students' problem awareness,inquiry awareness,innovation awareness,and application awareness,scientific spirit and scientific attitude.In this article,the author chose mathematics teachers and students in some areas of Beijing as research objects.According to do some questionnaire researches,we have found several aspects that make today's Practice and Synthesis not too optimistic,those aspects are as follows.(1)Some of the schools do not pay much attention to Practice and Synthesis,and the schools do not have any related regulations.(2)According to the requirement of Practice and Synthesis,the teaching target is not very clear and the participation of students is low,not well integrated with the content of various disciplines,so the activity can't be carried out.(3)Teachers are still the subject of evaluation,the single trend of the evaluation subject is obvious and the evaluation method is one-sided.(4)Practice and Synthesis didn't work well in most of the schools,no significant effect on students' practical ability and the like.According to those problems,we have come to the following conclusions:(1)The teaching design of the " Practice and Synthesis" activity in junior high school mathematics should follow the principle of purpose,the principle of consolidation,the principle of openness,the principle of feasibility,and the principle of inquiry.(2)The organization and implementation of " Practice and Synthesis" activity in junior high school mathematics can be divided into the following stages: raising questions,identifying activities,searching for information,establishing activity plans,organizing and implementing,and summarizing.(3)In the evaluation of " Practice and Synthesis" activity,we should start with the evaluation of the issues that should be noted and the contents of the activities evaluation.Finally,We show two implementation cases: one is the teaching design of simulating the sand table course,and another one is the teaching design of triangulation.These cases can produce a certain theoretical reference value and practical guidance significance for the teaching of " Practice and Synthesis" activity.
