A large number of different problems have been occurred to poverty students in universities and colleges since the higher education implements cost sharing system initiation.Hence,these poverty students,been seen as a new kind of disadvantages group,had aroused the attention of the whole society.Traditional research and help models to poor college students may focus on the material respect.Nowadays,these students required not only material help but also the help on how to overcome their psychological and Capability problems.Only combined the Material help system with Psychological and Capability help system,can the help the students to focus on their studies,health and developments.As a consequence,it is important for social workers to insist the practice of exploring a new ‘Mental' and ‘Capability' service mode.The main purpose of this research is to establish a practical ‘mental' and ‘ability'service mode for the poor college students.Previous literatures showed that there was a gap between the urgent needs of social work intervention in higher education to the reality conditions,few research paid attention to the poor college students.In this circumstance,this research was focus on how to use the social work practice to help the poverty students in universities and colleges,especially focus on their mental and ability cultivation care.Taken the project‘The practice of taking care of poverty university students' growth by social workers' as the example,macro,in-view and micro perspectives were used to analyze the SY college's students' poverty problems.The reasons of why these mental and capability povertymight occurred was also the focus of this practice.This research was guided by the core conception of ‘Social network support'and‘service learning mode'.Besides,group social work and public community activities were the main approaches which was taken by this research to help the poverty students to deal with their mental and capability poverty.Research showed that these approaches could help the students to face the problems which might occurred in their growth period,to make their behaviors pair with their knowledge,also,to cultivate their self-administration habits.In conclusion,through target assessment,approach assessment and results assessment,two statements could be concluded by this research:Firstly,social work in universities and colleges could help poverty students to learn the 10 core knowledge of positive growth capability,and could also help them to improve their self-administration capability;Secondly,the service mode which combined the experimental group work with service learning mode could have a positive influence to the university and college poverty students towards their psychological and capability poverty.
