The Predicament Of Type 1 Diabetes Mellitus And The Intervention Of Social Work

According to the latest statistics of National Health and Family Planning Commission of China,The World Health Organization and The International Diabetes Federation,the current number of diabetes in China is about 100 million,including Type 1 diabetes,Type 2 diabetes,gestational diabetes and other types diabetes.Known in daily life,diabetes is known in medicine as Type 2 diabetes.Because the incidence of Type 1 diabetes in the total number of small proportion and diabetes is mostly in the elderly population,therefore,people have always believed that diabetes and adolescent groups without any relationship.However,according to the survey,China's current Type 1 diabetes is about400 million or so.People with Type 1 diabetes is still in the school stage of onset,younger,will face school,job hunting,marriage,fertility and other difficulties.Because of the particularity of the group's life stage,and the community is generally concerned about Type 2 diabetes,Type 1 diabetes group is relatively get low social concern.At present,the study of Type 1 diabetes is mainly concentrated in the medical field.In the field of social work,mainly to study the Type 2 diabetes group,using case management,groups,etc.to carry out professional social work services,but rarely for the Type 1 diabetes group research.Therefore,this article uses qualitative research methods,through the nine patients,three patients' parents and three endocrine health care workers interviews,the difficulties faced by Type 1 diabetes,the plight of the reasons for the emergence of social work and how to try to Type 1 of diabetes to provide professional services and other issues,to explore.Through interviews,this paper found that the plight of Type 1 diabetes include lack of expertise in Type 1 diabetes,Type 1 diabetes treatment approach and standard deletion and the existing diabetes treatment program and Type 1 diabetes does not match;patients themselves and parents psychological dilemma,changes in parental rearing patterns;openness of the disease,degree of disclosure,and concealment of social discrimination due to Type 1 diabetes;economic stress;other dilemmas in daily life.The cause of the difficulties include: Type 1 diabetes is not fully into the public vision;for the popularity of diabetes knowledge is not too much involved in Type 1 diabetes,the popularity of knowledge was artificially selected;society on Type 1 diabetes is equal to "Minor illness","abnormal","self-reliance" prejudice and labeling and then lead to social discrimination;Type 1 diabetes "active self-isolation."According to the above analysis and research,this paper aims at the situation of Type 1 diabetes group,try to put forward," the main course of life as the premise,the use of 'case management' as the main way,integration of 'capacity-based' and 'assets Construction 'concept for the Type 1 diabetes group professional social work service framework.
