With the change of lifestyle and the prolongation of life expectancy, the prevalence of diabetes is increasing year by year in the world.Among them, type Ⅱ diabetes patients account for the vast majority of the total number of diabetes patients. For the elderly, they have insufficient awareness and attention to diabetes, and their self-protection awareness and self-management ability are weak. This affects the treatment of the disease to a certain extent, which will not only increase the incidence of diabetes complications, but also reduce the elderly.quality of life. For the elderly living in welfare institutions for a long time, the unchanged living environment and relatively fixed social network will inevitably cause their emotional fluctuations.Over time, the negative emotions of the elderly have become increasingly prominent, and their satisfaction with life has gradually declined. The generation of negative emotions not only affects the treatment effect of the disease, but also affects the mental health status and subjective well-being level.During the internship, the researcher had the opportunity to contact the elderly patients with type Ⅱ diabetes in Wuhan Z Welfare Institute.By searching relevant literature and combining the 6-month internship experience and project research results, the questionnaire method and semi-structured interview method were used to select An elderly patient with typeⅡdiabetes in a welfare institution as the client, based on the theory of humanism and combined with the client’s own situation, carried out case social work, aiming to improve the subjective well-being of elderly patients with type Ⅱ diabetes in the welfare institution. This research is divided into six parts. The main content of the first part is to explain the background, research significance and related literature review. The second part introduces the research design in detail, which includes the definition of basic concepts, the theoretical basis of humanism, research ideas and research methods. The third part is to carry out the preliminary preparation of case intervention, including three parts: receiving the case, forecasting, and formulating the goal and plan of case intervention. Before the social work intervention of the case, the researcher used the way of visiting and survey to understand the subjective well-being of the elderly patients with type Ⅱ diabetes in Z Welfare Institute. As a result, the case was determined.Next, the researcher and the client work out the intervention goals and plans of the case service. The fourth part is based on humanism, and elaborates the whole process of case social work intervention in detail, which is divided into 6 case social work interventions. In the process of carrying out case service, the researcher, guided by humanistic theory, actively pays attention to and accepts clients unconditionally, guides clients to actively explore their inner world and personal values, and encourages clients to express their emotions fully and freely,to further explore the formation process of their self-concept,their relationship with residents and nurses, and their attitude towards life in orphanages. It is believed that clients can rely on their own strength to conduct self-discovery and self-exploration,thereby reducing negative emotions and improving subjective well-being.is the core of this research. The fifth part is evaluation and follow-up service, evaluation includes process evaluation and result evaluation.By comparing the test results of the two scales before and after the intervention, the changes of the clients were analyzed according to the four dimensions of the subjective well-being scale, and the evaluation and summary were made. The sixth part mainly elaborates the conclusion, reflection and suggestion of this research. This part firstly summarizes the research from the practical significance of applying humanistic theory to type Ⅱ diabetic patients in welfare institutions and the intervention of case social work on the subjective well-being of the elderly. After the intervention, three levels of research and reflection were carried out,and finally corresponding suggestions were put forward from four perspectives of elderly diabetic patients, social workers, welfare institutions and society. This study is based on the theory of humanism, with elderly patients with type Ⅱdiabetes in welfare institutions as the main body, and by formulating a case service plan that is conducive to the self-discovery of the client,to promote the client to conduct positive self-exploration,reduce negative emotions, and improve life Satisfaction,so as to improve the subjective well-being level of the elderly with type Ⅱ diabetes in welfare institutions, build a healthy personality, and achieve growth. At the same time,on the one hand, this research is conducive to improving the humanistic theory and related research on subjective well-being,and on the other hand,it is helpful to make up for the lack of psychological care for the elderly by nursing workers and all walks of life in welfare homes, and it is helpful for improving
