Research On Project Management Of International Marathon Events

Holding the international marathon events plays an important role in displaying city image,improving city grade and enriching urban culture.It also has a great positive effect on urban economic development.With the rapid development of China's sports industry,many cities in China are holding marathon events.However,the highlighted relevant issues such as the development strategy of the international marathon events,the management of norms and the operation of the events need the involvement of scientific management theory.The international marathon requires a clear goal that why it is necessary to host the event,as well as the resources(personnel,equipment,materials,etc.),planning,implementation and control.These characteristics of the marathon are fully equipped with the attributes and characteristics of the project.Therefore,this article,by putting the marathon event as a project,discusses the management by using the theory of project management,which has provided opinions and suggestions for the improvement of management level and operation level of domestic marathon events and to realize the healthy and sustainable development.This paper makes a comprehensive study of the operation management of international marathon competition from the perspective of project management.Firstly,this paper starts from the basic theory of project management of sports events,expounds the classification and characteristics of sports events,and puts forward relevant concepts and contents of sports event management.Secondly,this paper introduces the development and operation model of the international marathon,analyzes its related contents by using the theory of project management,and puts forward the problems and countermeasures existing on project management of domestic marathon.Finally,in view of the actual case of the Dalian International Marathon,the application countermeasures for the project management are put forward in order to provide theoretical guidance for the organizers to organize the events and enrich the operation management content of the marathon.In the background of China's development of sports industry,marathon being regarded as the gold event project has been paid more attention and development than ever before.Using the theoretical system of project management to analyze,research and manage marathon events can promote it to follow the law of industrial development,perfect the market mechanism,cultivate actively diversified market subjects,fully mobilize the initiative and creativity of the whole society and provide a variety of products and services that meet the needs of the masses,further stimulate the crowd to participate in sports activities,promote the formation of a healthy consumption concept and a vigorous market for sports consumption and inject new impetus into economic and social development.
