The transformation of geographical representations is one of the important cognitive abilities of students and is also one of the important geography abilities.In order to cultivate and improve the students' ability to transform geographical representations,the geographical representations involved in high school geography textbooks is classified,and the teaching strategies to guide students to complete the transformation of geographical representations are discussed.It has important theoretical and practical significance for improving students' interest in geography learning.It is also an active exploration of our current geography education and teaching research and reform.Firstly,the research background and significance are discussed,which briefly introduces the current situation of research on the transformation of geographical representations at home and abroad.Based on the theories of related pedagogy and educational psychology,this thesis analyzes the necessity and feasibility of developing students' ability of transforming geographical representations.Next,taking the geographical representations information in the compulsory education 1 of PEP edition as an example,this thesis probes into the means and approaches to transforming geographical representations in the actual teaching contexts,and summarizes the constraints on the realization of the geographical representations based on the practical teaching experience of the author.At the end of this thesis,the teaching strategy and empirical analysis are put forward to improve the ability of transformation of geographical representations so as to provide an innovative references and suggestions for the current teaching and research of geography education.The main body of the thesis consists of six parts:The first part mainly discusses the following five aspects: the background,the significance,the current research situation and the research methods and approaches.This thesis illustrates the transformation of students' cognitive methods from the perspective of new curriculum reform,and the student-centered teaching ideology and the development of student's ability,hence this thesis draws a conclusion on the necessity of the studying of the geographical representations.In the research significance aspect,the theoretical and practical significance are analyzed.The main research methods include literature method,element analysis method and analysis-synthesis method.The second part mainly introduces the concepts and theoretical foundations involved in this thesis.This paper mainly deals with the two concepts of geographical representation and its transformation;the theoretical basis is based on the theory of Constructivism represented by Piaget and Bruner,and the dual coding theory of Paivio and the theoretical results of Cooper and Shepard's psychological rotation experiment.The third part mainly analyzes the necessity and feasibility of cultivating students' ability to transform geographical representations,and the basic status of the needs of students' thinking development,the characteristics of geography,the transformation of geographical representations in conceptual learning,and the geographical representations in the present geography teaching,the feasibility of the transformation etc.are discussed.The fourth part makes a brief summary of the geographical representations,and classifies the geographical representations information involved in the high school geography compulsory 1 of PEP edition,and probes into the ways of changing different kinds of geographical representations.Then,the analysis of constraints of realizing the geographical representations transformation is based on the actual teaching experience.The fifth part,also the core part of the thesis,puts forward a kind of teaching strategy that can guide students successfully complete the geographical representations transformation in a classification method,and help students learn the autonomous transformation.This thesis analyzes the typical cases selected from the compulsory 1 of the PEP edition so as to provide useful references for the current geography teaching.The sixth part: This part mainly summarizes and reflects on the article,and draws several conclusions.
