The Study Of Social Work Intervention In Social Support Network Of City Empty Nest Old Man

As the population aging and urbanization speed up,the number of empty-nest old people in urban areas is also increasing.Long-term of being alone makes many empty nesters in poor mental health.On the one hand,due to the far geographical position,the life pressure and other reasons,children of these nesters cannot regularly take care of or accompany their parents.On the other hand,these old people cannot get help from the social support network and even the opportunity to interact with others because of the physical health,cognitive differences and other limits.These are the important reasons that leading to the mental health problems empty-nest old people.This article is about the intervention of social work intervening in empty nest elderly services.It takes the empty nesters of S community in Shenzhen as the research object,based on relative prospects and conceptions of theory in advantage perspective and the social support theory.This article investigates and analysis thepsychological status and social support status of empty nesters first.On this basis,with the aid of professional practice project,based on cognition,ability construction,the author uses the method of group work to intervene into the social support network of empty nesters.Besides,in the aspect of intervene in community work,the author mainly designs and participates in the construction activities of community support network for empty nesters,such as by encouraging "neighborhood assistance",volunteers to help each other,social worker interlink to resource service,cultural services and other links to enhance social participation of empty-nest old people.In this paper,the study found that social workers provide direct and indirect services to meet the demand of empty-nest old people spiritual solace.First,social workers help them establish positive life concepts,strengthen the ability of them to use informal social support network;second,social workers give guidance and improve the community support system to meet the spiritual demand of empty-nest old people;finally,social workers create a respectful and helpful environment for the elderly.Improving community support system,creating a helpful environment and changing the cognitive of empty-nest old people will help meet the long-term demand of comforting empty-nest old people.
