Reading is a way of language input and one of the effective method of broadening learners knowledge and horizon.English Reading Teaching is a very important part of English Teaching.However,the reading situation of primary and middle school students in China is hard for lacking of impetus.Students can not experience reading with willingness;Students can not experience the happiness of reading;Students can not develop their own minds while reading;Students ever can cultivate good habits of self-reading.With the recognition of the importance of literature reading,it comes back to people's learning lives.The former researches all have proved the effectiveness of English Literature Reading.The present study based on the Experiential Learning Theory,Literature Experiential Reading Teaching Model,Humanistic Learning Theory,and Second Language Acquisition Theory tries to explore the correlation between the model and the specific abilities to guess words with context and to understand the opinions,attitudes and intentions.Whether there is a different effect among English learners in different levels will also be discussed.Two same-level classes have been chosen in this study.And it lasts for a whole term.In this experiment,literature works are the reading material and the five steps and the three class patterns are involved.The experiment data states that there is a strong correlation between the English Literature Experiential Reading Teaching Model and the abilities to guess words and understand the opinions,attitudes and intentions of the passage.And the model has more obvious effect on lower English learners.On the one hand,learners can read a lot and learn a lot from reading.At the same time,they can improve the specific abilities to guess words with context and to understand the opinions,attitudes and intentions.On the other hand,relaxing reading experience can motivate learners' reading interests especially the low-level English learners'.
