Study On The Intervention Of The Group Work In Mental Comfort Of The Urban Empty-nesters

According to the population statistics,since 1999,China has officially entered the aging society,and the net growth of the elderly population in China has reached 110 million in 2017.As of the beginning of 2018,the elderly population in China totaled 241 million.According to the statistics,the increase of the elderly population in 2017 firstly exceeded 10 million.Facing the current situation of increasing population aging,it is necessary to guide the society to focus on the elderly population,especially the problem of empty nesters.Due to the strong mobility of family members and the elderly growth of the one-child family,there are more and more empty nesters in the city.When offspring left home because of marriage,employment or study;when retired from a stressful work environment and broke away from the mainstream of society;or when left alone in the room which was full of offspring;the growing demand of the elderly and the inevitable empty nest crisis have become an irreconcilable contradiction,thus empty nest old man will produce a lot of questions about Mental disorders and depression.So understanding of empty nest old man's mental state,meeting the spiritual needs of empty nest elderly,giving spiritual comfort to them,helping them enjoys old age of happiness is the responsibility unable to avoid of the whole society and the problem demanded prompt solution.Although the urban empty nesters are satisfied with their material needs,there is a serious lack of spiritual life and urgent need of spiritual consolation.Benefiting from the advantage of the group work method intervening in the mental comfort of the elderly in the city,it is imperative to explore the group work method to solve their problem of spiritual consolation.Based on the internship experience of the D community in Taicang city,using literature research,interview method and the group work method,blending need theory,activity theory and theory of advantage perspective,part of the D community empty-nesters were visited and then the group work method was carried out among them.After interview,the author found that part empty-nesters in this community existed serious lack of spouse spiritual comfort,offspring spiritual comfort,friends and neighbor spiritual solace and environment of community spirit comfort.According to the interview results,the writer designed six theme activities for spiritual consolation in the city empty nester named as "neighbour watch,enjoy old age" in order to meet the demand of respect demand,friend demand,activities demand and accompany demand.Professional group activities created a pleasant atmosphere for empty-nesters in the community,helped empty-nesters form bonding for mutual companionship and support,built a more extensive social support network,weakened the empty-nesters' loneliness,and caused the community workers increased attention to them.In the process of the six group activities,the effectiveness of the approach to the spiritual comfort of the urban empty-nesters has been evaluated by using the five-dimensional perspective.The assessment results indicated that empty-nesters'respect demand,friend demand,activities demand and accompany demand is greatly satisfied,and they strengthened the confidence of life in the elderly,also the community noticed the existence of empty nester and gave some attention.The successful intervention of the group work in the empty nesters of D community showed that:artful intervention was the guarantee of the success to carry out spiritual consolation group activities in the urban empty-nesters;The combination of reasonable group activity design and the urban empty-nesters demand is the basis of group goal achievement;The use of professional group work skills is the key to successful group activities.The research results of this paper provide a great deal of practical experience for the successful group activities in urban empty nesters.At the same time,the research on the spiritual consolation of the urban empty-nesters can arouse the attention of the society and the offspring,and make them bear the burden of satisfying the spiritual consolation needs of the urban empty-nesters.
