In recent years, the proportion of elderly people in the total population of China has been rising, and China has entered into an aging society.Due to the influence of family planning policy and the large number of population movements and migration in the last century, the empty nesters have become one of the main target groups for the elderly.Unlike the original research on the material and health aspects of old-age care, this paper focuses on the spiritual aspects of old-age care for the empty nesters. This paper takes the empty nesters in village D of province H as the research object, and chooses to use group social work method according to the needs and physical quality of the old people to help the old people to achieve spiritual happiness in their old age.By analyzing the needs of the elderly, using participant observation, interviews and questionnaires to collect data, and using Maslow's hierarchy of needs theory to analyze the needs of the empty nesters in terms of their emotions, social interactions, respect and self-actualization,and using social support theory as a guide, the elderly found the support resources around them, and used group work to provide services for the empty nesters,so that the empty nesters In the group activities, the elderly can strengthen communication, establish supportive relationships, learn new modern skills, and deepen the recognition of their own value, thus achieving spiritual satisfaction. In the study of group intervention in spiritual aging for empty nesters, through the evaluation of the process and results of group implementation and practical reflection on group effects,it is also suggested to build a social support network through individual support, family support, organizational support, and social support to improve spiritual aging life.
