As an important part of Junior middle school mathematics education,Minus is students' basis of mathematics learning later,and is a very important key point during Junior middle school mathematics learning simultaneously.Well minus knowledge is critical to rational number learning and Algebra course.We can find a number of literatures about minus teaching and students' understanding of minus by documents sorting,downloading and reading.But most of them just researched minus teaching from a certain angle.In this paper,the author has thoroughly studied the situation about seventh grade students' minus learning.Student's thinking process in minus comprehension is analyzed.The problem and difficult points during minus learning process have been learned.Through acquiring the situation of students' minus comprehension detailedly,we can improve teaching scheme more correctly and raise education quality more effectively.This study has chosen 200 students as subjects,most of whom are come from the ninth secondary school of Zhangjiakou,and the twentieth secondary school of Zhangjiakou and the third secondary school of HuaiAn county's students are chosen as contras samples.Test mode is composed with pretest,formal testing and interview.The test is designed from four aspects that are the concept of minus,the nature of minus,the operation of rational number and the application of minus in sequence.The purpose is to analyze students' mastery degree in every aspect and explore their weak points in minus learning.In this paper,the test not only compared the same grade students,but also compared different genders from different grades and schools in order to adequately understand the minus knowledge level of seventh grade students.Through the statistics of test paper and some student interviews,we can draw the following conclusions:(1)It is the weak point that some students' scoring rate can't reach 60 percentage relating to minus concepts.A large number of students insisted that the number with a minus sign is a minus.(2)In the aspect of number comparison,most students can distinguish positive number,negative number and zero,but some student always confuse the order of several negative numbers.(3)In terms of rational number operations,For seventh grade students who are new to minus knowledge,there are quite a lot of problems such as the wrong operation sequence,,the wrong removal of brackets due to the combination of four mixed operation and rationalnumber(4)In general,There is no significant difference in the understanding of the knowledge of minus between different genders,and so as the same grade student in different schools.There is significant difference in the understanding of the knowledge of minus among students in different grades.With grade increasing,junior school students' level of minus knowledge is improved apparently.
