Career refers to the work life that people experience during their lifetime.The individual level of the socialist core values includes patriotism,dedication,honesty and friendliness.Among them,dedication is the attitude towards work which requires practitioners to respect their jobs as well as lives in the whole life long.With the rapid development of social economy and technology,the education of our country has entered a new stage.Since the international competition is the competition of talents after all,the quality education with the basic aim of cultivating all-round development talents has been implemented in China for many years and has achieved remarkable results.However,there are still some shortcomings in the education system.For example,career planning education needs to be continuously strengthened and improved.Nowadays,the employment situation of college graduates is grim,though it is the result of multiple factors.However,to a certain extent,it is closely related to the long absence and lack of career education in our country.The promulgation of the "Opinions on the Implementation of the State Council’s Reform on the Deepening of the Examination Recruiting System" has started a new round of college entrance examination reform and requires students to choose their own subjects according to the university’s academic level test subjects and application requirements,in addition to Chinese,Mathematics,and English compulsory subjects.Choose three subjects.However,due to the imperfection of career education in senior high schools,students and their parents are puzzled and anxious about the selection of courses,which makes career education especially urgent.The academic pressures in Chinese senior high schools are very tight,so penetrating career education into the discipline may be an effective way.The disciplines of geography are interdisciplinary,the characteristics of comprehensiveness are prominent,they intersect with many disciplines,and they are closely related to all walks of life.Therefore,penetrating career education in geography teaching is not only necessary but also feasible.Under the background of the new college entrance examination,the author combines the research status both at home and abroad,uses the questionnaire survey method to investigate and analyze the penetration of career education in high school geography teaching,and tries to combine career education with high school geography disciplines to design specific teaching cases,aiming to improve and perfect the career education in senior high school,making better use of the educational value of geography disciplines,and paying more attention to the development of students’ personality and the self-selected awareness and ability.As a result,exploring the ways in which career education penetrates into high school geography teaching are as follows: all walks of life provide a platform for career education;schools should actively carry out various types of training classes and extra-curricular activities;geography teachers should be practitioners of career education;and parents are going to be the assistants of career education and modern educational technology should be used.
