Integrated reading and writing instruction is an important path in Chinese Language Arts.The mainstream norms of modern Chinese language education are based on reading,that is,reading is the basis of writing."Compulsory Education Chinese Curriculum Standard(2011 Edition)" puts forward specific teaching goals and recommendations on implementation respectively for Middle School Chinese literacy.It also provides a programmatic and directional guidance to the language teaching.In fact,writing is seriously missing in teaching Chinese.With the illustration of general literacy teaching,this paper discusses specific implementation strategies for integrated reading and writing instruction in Middle School.In this paper,through analysis of studies,the author advocates that with teaching exemplars educators should provide instructions for both reading and writing based on the relationship between reading and writing and from the aspects of "read and write to write to read,read and write with a teaching focus,evaluation,studying habits" etc.Integrated reading and writing instruction helps students learn reading skills through the process of teaching,acquire writing skills and develop habits of literacy skills to improve students’ thinking and reading and writing abilities.
