Cooperative learning,which originated in the United States and developed widely in the early 1920 s,has been widely used in classroom teaching in the early 70 s.Cooperative learning also known as collaborative learning,which is a kind of learning mode,operated by the group to achieve the same goal or standard.In our country,the theory of cooperative learning flourished in the 80 s of last century.STAD cooperative learning mode are beneficial to developing the skill of communication and solving problem.In in our country,cooperative learning mode is widely used in classroom teaching of basic education.Unsatisfactory,cooperative learning is copied and single studied a lot,which not adapt to the education of our country's cooperative learning classroom teaching practice.Therefore,developing the local cooperative learning,making it combining with the education situation of our country requirements is essential.Based on the perspective of teaching practice,this paper overview literature research in cooperative learning of domestic and foreign literature review.Then introduce elements and processes of Student Teams Achievement Divisions,which hereinafter referred to as STAD.Try to build STAD cooperative learning mode and adapt it to the teaching practice.Secondly,this paper discusses the specific process of STAD cooperative learning mode and the method of using it in English reading classroom of high school.Through the questionnaire survey to Analyze the the present situation in English reading class of applicating cooperative learning in Fifth Middle Senior High School in Harbin.After using of STAD cooperative learning mode,the results of questionnaire survey and test of examination paper turn out that students positive interdependence,individual responsibility,the change of the respect and such as social skills are improved.Using STAD cooperative learning model in the high school English reading classroom,can improve educates the academic performance of English reading interest in learning,cooperation and social skills.
