The teaching materials of Foreign Language Teaching and Research Press were adopted during the author's high school period,which had been highly controversial at that moment because of the application in the early stage of using.Afterwards with study within and outside the university classes as well as the gradual improvement of New Curriculum Reform,more and more merits of the materials have become clear before us.The author turned to be interested in the research of the teaching materials after constant accumulation of observation and thinking.This thesis considers the students who use this teaching material as research object.Quantitative method is used to investigate their feedback during using the textbook and after using the teaching material,and then according to students' feedback,relative suggestions about how to use teaching material are put forward.This thesis attempts to investigate feedbacks and put forward suggestions for the current situation of the use of the textbook in a certain group,and the author thinks that it is of more pertinence and practical value than the research from a macro perspective.Questionnaires as the main quantitative method are adopted to investigate the use of vocabulary,grammar,reading and writing in the materials.And the comparative analysis is given between the students on the basis of gender,subjects,scores respectively and the questions of questionnaires in this dissertation.According to the analysis of data,1.the advantages of the teaching material include the arrangement of grammar structure is reasonable and it is obviously helpful to students;new words are moderate;reading materials is lucid and is helpful to improve lexical resource.2.The disadvantages that the content setting of writing cannot enhance students' enthusiasm and writing abilities.According to the advantages and disadvantages of the teaching material,from the students' point of view and based on teachers' explanations,this thesis makes suggestions about writing?reading?grammar and about students' attitude towards teaching material.As for the conclusion,the author notice that there exist some certain differences in using the materials among the students of difference genders,subjects and scores,also some suggestions are offered,which all become the discovery as well as the core of this dissertation.
