Accompanied with the development of economic globalization and social diversification,the tremendous acceleration of knowledge updating speed,and unceasing alteration of value orientation of education,the limitations of overly regarding the basis of discipline,excessive subjects and inappropriate integration emerges.In this social context,the theoretical research and practical exploration of integrated curriculum arises at the historic moment.Junior middle school subject of "History and Society",as an integrated humanity course,is designed to cultivate the democratic quality,global consciousness and humanistic quality of middle school students.Upon the establishment of the course,it receives much concern,also as a disputed area though.Overall,it is as much censured as praised in the education world and academia.In particular,the curriculum structure of "History and Society" remains the focus of public opinion,mainly arguing that the curriculum itself partially overlaps with and separate from Ideological and Ethical Education of junior middle school;Externally it cannot effectively connect with primary school and high school courses of liberal arts,internally the content categories are not complete,and the integration is disorderly.Under the circumstance,it is of necessity to perform in-depth reflection and research on the curriculum structure of "History and Society".To date,Zhejiang province has been the first to have witnessed the establishment of the course of "History and Society" throughout the province.Based on the practice survey on the learning conditions in Zhejiang and interviews with the teachers of Society subject of 11 cities of Zhejiang,the students and teachers generally hold that the course has both advantages and disadvantages.Consequently,the paper summarizes the structural optimization strategy of the course of "History and Society".Curriculum structure is the bond converting the course purpose into successful education,as well as the basis of smooth implementation of course activities.Therefore,as far as the course of "History and Society" is concerned,it is critical to optimize the course structure,in the sense that it enables,firstly,to establish the core status of the history curriculum elements,secondly,to integratethe design of arts curriculum of primary and middle schools,thirdly,to improve the curriculum standard and teaching textbook related to this course.Aside from that,the creation of favorable external environment for optimization of course structure can by no means be ignored.Specifically,the paper raises three suggestions.First and foremost,setting up the research society for integrated course,second,building up matching curriculum evaluation system,last but not least,learn from the experience of advanced concepts abroad for references and enlightenments.
