Classical Chinese is the essence of the traditional Chinese culture.Teaching materials nowadays are rigorously selected,hoping to develop students' interest in traditional cultures,improve their ability of appreciation and essential traits.However,more and more students are weary of studying and teachers tired of teaching,leading to not so optimistic teaching condition.In view of the present situation,serious investigations and studies have thus been made to analyse the causes.Besides,the writer puts forward a series of teaching strategies.This paper is divided into four parts.Firstly,it analyzes the present situation of the low efficiency of classroom teaching:teachers tend to put an over-emphasis on grammatical knowledge,failing to grasp the concept of the new curriculum reform accurately.Using unvaried teaching method,teachers tend to weaken the effects of cultural influences and emotional cultivation.Due to a lack of interest in classical Chinese,students are weak in basic knowledge.Therefore,they have become passive knowledge receivers.Furthermore,the defects in compilation of teaching materials,low efficiency of instruction and singularity of teaching evaluation worsen the problem.Then,the paper includes anylyses on factors that influence the effectiveness of high school classical teaching.Lastly,the writer puts forward a series of improving measures for effective teaching.Teachers shoud set clear objectives,promote development through motivation,follow the rules,put more emphasis on communication,activate students' mind and build up multi-dimensional comprehensive evaluation system.This paper aims to provide some reference for high school classical Chinese teaching in PEP Edition.
