Hu Shi was one of the important figures in China in the 20 th century,and his whole played many roles as educator,thinker and historian.Throughout the ages,the research on Hu Shi is more numerous,which mainly related to literature,philosophy,history,education and other fields,and this paper focuses on Hu Shi's great influence on Chinese education.Mr.Hu was one of the pioneers of modern Chinese language education.He had studied abroad for more than 7years,and deeply influenced by his teacher Dewey and the concept of democratic education in the West.Gradually,he formed his own idea of democratic education in Chinese language and devoted himself to studing the Chinese language education.Western education theory into the Chinese language education.He puted the promot the Chinese language education more democratic and more modernistic.This paper summarized and elaborated Hu Shi's democratic education thoughts,through the systematic analysis of Hu Shi's educational works and the study of Hu Shi's thoughts on Chinese language education,and and then further discussed the impact of Hu Shi's democratic education thoughts on middle school Chinese.Hu Shi's democratic education thoughts mainly covers two aspects: one is the connotation of democratic education thoughts,(civic education thought,equality education thought,general education thought and freedom of speech thought);The other is the main source of Hu Shi's democratic education thoughts.Which is influenced by Dewey,Huxley and other famous western educators.What is more,on the basis of understanding the connotation of Hu Shi's democratic educational thoughts,this paper explores the relationship of Hu Shi's democratic educational thoughts and middle school Chinese teaching.As we know and any theory is going through long time to develop,accumulate and then achieve mature.Hu Shi's democratic education thoughts has experienced these three stages: sprouting stage,developing stage and mature period.Which,not only plays an important role in Chinese teaching at the time,but also in middle school Chinese study nowadays.mainly reflecting the curriculum standard of chinese,teaching content,the teaching method and the teaching mode.Finally it can be found that the current Chinese teaching of democracy in middle school and thoughts of democracy education in Hu Shi are all interconnectd.The paper searches the similar points based on abore thoughts,and meanwhile,she is the main difference between the Chinese teaching of middle school,The writer points out the problems existing in the process of the application of the current democratic teaching in the actual middle school Chinese teaching.for example,"pseudo-democracy","generalized democracy" and "oral democracy".Aming at these problems,the writer puts forward corresponding countermeasures according to his own ideas and systems research.,At the same time,using Li Zhenxi,Wei Shusheng and other modern well-known Chinese democratic educator's,teaching cases,as reference.highlighting the importance of democratic education.The time of Mr.Hu has been very far away from us.Although our current various forms of democratic Chinese teaching can not be sonsidered come into being the direct impact of Mr.Hu Shi,with the progress and development of the times,and the essence of his democratic education concept.The current language teaching can more vividly presented in front of us,therefore,study Hu Shi's Chinese language and democratic education is essential to our Chinese language education.
