As one of the basic connotation of core socialist values, democracy is the goal for our country pursuing, in order to achieve this goal, we need to have the talented person of democratic ideas, and democratic idea the cultivation of talents depends on the school education. Democratic education is an important content of ideological and political education, ideological and political education to improve the quality of the people’s democracy as a important task, so in order to complete the task of ideological and political education, cultivate people with democratic ideas, the paper selected the junior middle school democratic education through the research of this topic mainly divided into three parts.The first part mainly defines the contents of the Democratic Education in junior middle school students. According to the previous discussion, combined with specific characteristics of junior high school students, the junior middle school students in the content of democratic education is divided into three aspects:democratic knowledge and democratic character and democratic skills, then on the three more in detail. Knowledge of democratic knowledge and related knowledge of democratic system and knowledge of democratic system. Divide the moral character into five aspects:equality, critical thinking, respect for others, tolerance and discipline. Divide the skills of democracy into criticism and self-criticism, and clearly express the skills, skills, skills of communication, skills of negotiation, skills of questioning, and skills of questioning the skills of defending the five aspects.The second part is mainly according to the discussed in front of the junior high school students of democratic education contents, design the questionnaire, of junior high school students and junior high school teachers in the investigation, and then according to the survey data to analyze the junior high school democratic education present situation and causes of these conditions. According to the survey data show that junior middle school students, the democratic education present situation is not optimistic, students for a democratic knowledge understood; democratic character in treat others as equals and critical thinking culture is not doing a good, but in the training of the students of tolerance, respect and discipline of the three democratic character aspects is done better; the freedom to express their views of the skills the students can practice clearly, but for criticism and self-criticism skills, communication skills, joint consultation skills and questioned defense skills is lacking. For reasons of some of the problems in the present situation, mainly from the ideological and moral teaching did not play its due role, junior middle school teachers lack of democratic consciousness. The schools are short of democratic management and students in democratic practice less chance of these four aspects to analyze.The third part of the current situation of democratic education for junior middle school students put forward some countermeasures for improvement. Mainly from strengthening ideological and moral education of democratic education, promote the democratic relationship between teachers and students, strengthen the democratic management of schools, enlarge students’ democratic participation opportunities and seeking support from society and family education for democracy these five aspects to put forward suggestions for improvement.
