The lead-in activity is also called lecture beginning,which appears in the form of “warming up” in classroom teaching sometimes,it refers to the teaching activity before teaching new contents within three to five minutes at the beginning of a class.But in the actual junior high English classroom teaching,lead-in activities tend to be formal or be developed in a hurry,and even some teachers ignore lead-in activities and tell students the learning contents directly.However,a good beginning is half of the success,and the lead-in plays an important role in the English classroom.English teaching in junior middle school needs special attention and encourages the students to enter the class with great enthusiasm.Whether the lead-in of teacher's design can generate suspense or not,whether it can arouse students' strong curiosity and desire for knowledge or not is the key to the success of a lesson.This paper mainly focuses on the following issues: 1.What are the main methods of classroom lead-in? 2.What is the relationship between the lead-in of junior middle school English classroom and students' learning interest? 3.What are the problems in classroom lead-in?In this paper,the author selects students and teachers from Yan Tai Bilingual Experimental School,there are 150 students and 24 teachers involved in the paper by using questionnaire and classroom observation.150 copies of students are retrieved and 100% is valid and 24 copies of teachers are collected and the validity rate is 100%.The questionnaires for students and teachers are analyzed by Microsoft Office Excel 2003 to examine the current situation of the classroom lead-in and its influential factors.Through this paper,the author draws the following conclusions: 1.The main methods used in the classroom lead-in are review lead-in,multimedia lead-in,background lead-in and daily topic lead-in method.2.The lead-in of junior middle school English classroom can stimulate students' learning interest of English.3.There are some problems in the classroom lead-in.For example,lead-in design lacks theoretical support,don't reflect the student's subjectivity or take into account the needs of students.
