The use of PEP Textbooks has a long history.Shanghai Education version of the textbook has an independent curriculum standards.This study makes the two edition of the junior high school mathematics textbooks as the research object,bases on the Shanghai teaching edition Textbook and "the equation and inequality",and makes a deep research on the teaching material from the two aspects of micro and macro.The purpose is to find out the similarities and differences between the two editions of textbooks,and put forward some suggestions for the construction of the junior high school mathematics textbook.The research method of this paper is static text analysis,literature review,case study and interview survey.Firstly,through combing the relevant literature,determines the research questions,understands the current situation of research and clarifies the research ideas.Secondly,by collecting the materials,designs the research process,finds out the research methods,and determines the framework of the thesis.Then,through the way of static text analysis and case study,makes a comparative analysis of the two edition of junior high school mathematics textbooks.F inally,by interviewing,collects evidences,validates the results of comparative analysis,draws the conclusions and makes recommendations.The main conclusions of this study are listed below.First,Shanghai teaching edition is larger and organizes more clearly,meanwhile,there are some blanks in the proper position,these are worthing leaming.Second,the exercises in the PEP textbooks are much more than that of the Shanghai Education Edition.But these exercises have their own significances and functions.So,they can not be deleted.Third,Shanghai Education version of the textbooks strengthen the link between knowledge,which is worth learning.Fourth,Shanghai Education version of the textbook has more knowledge points which can increase students' insights and develop their thinking.So these points are suggested to arranged in the PEP Textbooks as the elective contents.Fifth,the two versions of the materials have the same depth coefficient in the area of "equation and inequation",but the breadth coefficient of Shanghai Education edition is greater,and its structure is more complete.In the two kinds of textbooks,their examples and exercises have the same degree of difficulty.But their persentation of knowledge points are different,most contents in the PEP Textbooks are at the level of abstract,however,in Shanghai Education Edition,most contents are at intuitive or induction level in grade six and seven,but in grade eight and nine,most contents are at abstract level.So,Shanghai Education Edition's presentation of knowledge points is worth learning by PEP textbooks.
