Mathematics textbooks are an important resource for implementing mathematics teaching.Several major international comparisons of mathematics education show that textbooks have great influence on students' learning.With the continuous development and progress of society,there are many sets of mathematics textbooks under the guidance of many standards in China.Both Shanghai and Hong Kong compile textbooks under their own curriculum standards or guidance,and each textbook has its own characteristics.In addition,Shanghai and Hong Kong have achieved good results in PISA and TIMSS in Programme for International Student Assessment.A comparative study of Shanghai and Hong Kong textbooks has important research value and significance in guiding the compilation of textbooks and improving the quality of textbooks.Taking this as the starting point of research logic,this paper selects the widely used textbooks "Mathematics,an Experimental Textbook of Compulsory Education Curriculum Standards","Mathematics Trial Edition of Nine-year Compulsory Education Textbook" in Shanghai and "Mathematics and Life(Second Edition)" in Hong Kong.Taking the equations and inequalities in the three editions of textbooks as the research objects,this paper makes a comparative study Of the aspects of content breadth,content depth,comprehensive difficulty of exercises and presentation of curriculum content.In this paper,literature research,content analysis,statistical analysis and case analysis are used for qualitative and quantitative comparative study.Through the comparative study,the following conclusions are drawn:(1)In terms of the breadth and depth of the content,the Shanghai Education Edition textbook is more detailed and clear,and the system is more complete,so the breadth and depth of the content are the highest,while the Hong Kong Longman Edition textbook is the lowest.(2)In the comparison between examples and exercises,the comprehensive difficulty of Shanghai Education Edition textbook is the highest,while that of Hong Kong Longman Edition textbook is lower.The comprehensive difficulty of PEP textbooks on exercises is relatively high.(3)From the aspect of curriculum content presentation,the introduction of knowledge points,PEP textbooks like to use mathematical problems to introduce knowledge points,while Shanghai EP textbooks introduce knowledge points through scenarios,while Hong Kong Longman textbooks pay more attention to cut to the chase and introduce knowledge points through direct questions;On the structure chart of the textbook style,there is no obvious difference between the three editions of the textbook,and the Longman edition of the textbook in Hong Kong pays more attention to details;Chapter Introduction Part of PEP is introduced with life background,Shanghai EP is mainly introduced with life background and mathematics history,and Hong Kong Longman EP is introduced with principles or interesting articles.The three editions of expanded resources all pay attention to the connection between mathematics and life,and the People's Education Edition and Shanghai Education Edition also pay attention to the integration of mathematics history knowledge;Chapter Summary:The knowledge structure diagram of Shanghai Education Edition textbooks is clear,and the knowledge summary of PEP textbooks is detailed.On the side column of the textbook,the side column of the People's Education Edition pays attention to the inspiration and thinking of problems,the Shanghai Education Edition pays attention to the induction and summary of knowledge points,and the Hong Kong Longman Edition pays more attention to the review and memo of knowledge.Based on the above conclusions,the author gives some opinions on the compilation of teaching materials:(1)Pay attention to the extension of algebraic equation knowledge content,broaden students' knowledge reserve(2)appropriately improve the mathematical cognitive level of example exercises,diverge students' problem-solving thinking(3)set up basic knowledge review before the chapter,enrich the knowledge structure framework at the end of the chapter(4)enrich the expression forms of side columns,and pay attention to detail design.In addition,some suggestions are given for teachers' teaching:(1)the arrangement of homework exercises should be distinct;(2)Make full use of expanded resources.
