There is a strong correlation between adolescents' educational expectation and adolescents' academic achievement,at the same time adolescents' educational expectation has a great incentive for individual learning.High school students'expectation of higher education has a very important influence on their higher education.But how do senior high school students' educational expectations come into being?What factors affect high school students' educational expectations?Especially parents in China hope their children will have a brighter future.How do parents' educational expectations affect their expectations for higher education?Based on the literature review and the unique educational phenomenon in China,the expectation of young people's education in China and the factors that influence educational expectations seem to be more complicated.Further research needs to be studied.The problems to be studied in this paper are:first,what is the educational expectation of parents and high school students?Is there a regional difference(Northern and South of Jiangsu Province)?Is there a discrepancy in the nature of the account?Second,what are the factors that influence senior high school students'educational expectations?Howmuch is it?How does family background affect senior high school students' expectation of higher education?Does parents' educational expectation play a mediating role in it?The author selects the samples from north and south of Jiangsu Province,use the quantitative study and using SPSS to process data.Data analysis showed that the educational expectations of parents and high school students in northern South of Jiangsu were generally high.Parents in South of Jiangsu tend to be interested in their children,but those in Northern Jiangsu tend to choose jobs that are good for employment.The more educated the parents,the more they want their children to get highly educated.Parents in government offices have the highest expectation of their children's higher education.There is a significant difference between the expectation of higher education in agricultural and non-agricultural household registration.There is no significant difference between higher education expectations of agricultural and non-agricultural household registration students.The regression analysis found that individual learning habits,family economic capital,parental learning participation and parents' educational expectations have significant positive effects on adolescents'higher education expectations.Parents' educational expectations play an intermediary role in the role of family background(family economic capital and parental learning participation)in promoting the youth's higher education expectations.Compared with previous studies,this study has made some significant discoveries.It enriches the educational expectation of high school students,and also has some enlightenment for educational practice.For example,parents' educational expectations have a significant impact on high school students' higher education,and parental learning participation is more explanatory than family economic capital for high school students' higher education expectations.Parental education has no significant impact on adolescents' higher education expectations.It shows that parents with high educational background may not expect their children to have high educational background and low educational background parents may have higher educational expectations for their children.When the objective conditions of family economic and cultural capital need to be conveyed to their children by their parents'active participation and subjective willingness,the higher education expectations of young people will be significantly improved.Based on the findings,the author advocates parents' participation in children's learning.Schools can start more comprehensive practical activity courses,and the society pays more attention to the development of Chinese education.We should give full play to the resultant force of education so as to help adolescents form a reasonable expectation of higher education.
