Math scores are the main index that measures mathematics learning effect, and in the family life of students, there are many factors that affect their mathematics study, math scores are closely related to many factors in the family. In rural areas, the family condition of junior high school students is poor, and the parents are also lack of education concept and negative education attitude. This article selects the 728 students from two schools in Panzhihua,Sichuan to study relationship between the family factors and mathematics scores to make clear the main factors that are related to the math achievement and to improve the mathematics achievement of rural students. In this paper, family factors are divided into three parts: family background, parents' participation and family learning resources, and the method of multivariate linear regression analysis is used to study and draw the following conclusions:In the family background factors, the father's career and mother's highest degree have a significant relationship with the mathematics scores. In the case of other factors constant, the mathematical average score of the eighth-grade was 14.59 lower than average score of reference group. In the parental involvement factors, parents' expectations of math, parents' attitude to teachers' feedback, severe degree of parents, parents' expectations of a degree and frequency have significant relationship with the students' math scores. In the case of other factors constant, the mathematical average score of the eighth-grade was 14.47 lower than average score of reference group, and the mathematical average score of the Yi students was 2.64 lower than the average score of reference group. In the family learning resources factors, the use frequency of mathematics tutorials and the frequency of parents tutor their children are significantly related to the students' math scores. In the case of other factors constant, the mathematical average score of the eighth-grade was 13.73 lower than average score of reference group.Comprehensive analysis of family factors, parents' expectations of math, severe degree of parents, parents' attitude towards teachers' feedback, parents' expectations of a degree, the frequency of parents tutor their children and the use frequency of mathematics tutorials have significant relationship with the students' math scores. In the case of other factors constant, the mathematical average score of the eighth-grade was 14.01 lower than average score of reference group.Based on the results of data analysis and interview,it can be seen that the mathematics result is closely related to the parents' expectation, attitude and management style. In order to improve the mathematics performance of junior middle school students, this paper puts forward the following strategies:1.Parents should build confidence in their children.2.Parents should work together with teachers.3.Parents should create good mathematical learning conditions.
