The basic unit of education in China's high school is class.Generally speaking,once a class is formed,members of it are fixed as well.Thus,classes in China is a stable environment for its students and it has subtle influences on students in long term.In recent years,emotional intelligence has become an important subject in both educational and psychological studies.High school students are experiencing their adolescence,where there are significant changes going on both physically and mentally.The mind of a teenager is transforming from imaginal thinking and abstract thinking to dialectical thinking.A teenager's emotional intelligence also initiates and grows during this period.There are by far very limited studies on teacher's emotional labor,whereas teacher plays a crucial role in teaching activities and has huge impact on class and students.Thus,a study on class environment,student's emotional intelligence and teacher's emotional labor would provide scientific evidence for psychological education of high school students.This study chose 21 classes and 21 class adviser from 6 schools in Changsha and Xiangtan as sample.Three types of questionnaires including student's emotional intelligence,class environment and teacher's emotional labor were handed out to study the relationship of these three factors.Analysis via SPSS software and HLM software shows five results: 1.Junior high students have higher emotional intelligence than senior high students.2.Junior high students tend to have better class environment than senior high students.3 Class environment is positively correlated to student's emotional intelligence.Different dimensions of class environment are all positively correlated to emotional intelligence.4.Students' competing activity and their relationship show obvious positive correlation to teacher's emotional labor.Study burdens,however,shows obvious negative correlation to teacher's emotional labor.
