The purpose of this study is to understand the status quo of mobile phone dependence,emotional intelligence and mental health among middle school students,and then explore the relationship between these three factors.Relevant literature and correspondent questionnaires are necessary in order to find out the characteristics of the mentioned three variables,which will provide new channels and theoretical foundation to prevent and reduce the tendency of mobile dependence,and it is helpful for cultivating and improving emotional intelligence and mental health of junior high school students.Random sampling method is used in this study.Questionnaires of "mobile phone dependence scale","emotional intelligence scale EIS" and "middle school student mental health” were handed out to 850 primary and high school students from Huaihua and Changsha,and 825 of them were effective,with 97.06% recovery rate.With descriptive statistical analysis,correlation analysis and regression analysis carried out through SPSS23.0,the conclusions are shown in the following:1?In this study,the rate of mobile phone dependence of secondary school students is12.97%,which means about 75.34% of them have a certain mental health problems.The emotional intelligence scores of boys are higher than that of girls in middle school.Though the students in middle school are relatively strong in self-emotional control,but they are weak in emotional use.2?There are significant differences in scores of emotional intelligence,cell phone dependence and mental health grades.3?There is significantly positive correlation between mobile phone dependence and mental health scores,that is,the higher the degree of dependence on mobile phone accompany higher scores of mental health,it means the more serious mental health problems.The correlation between the total dimension of the mobile phone and the total dimension of the mental health is the strongest,and the dominant dimension of the mobile phone and mental health is the weakest4?There is significantly negative correlation between emotional intelligence scale and mental health scale score,that is,the higher scores of emotional intelligence accompany the lower scores of psychological health,it means less psychological problems.Furthermore,there is significantly negative correlation between mobile phone dependence and emotionalintelligence,that is,the higher scores of mobile dependence means more serious mobile dependence symptoms,and then scores of emotional intelligence are lower.5?The emotional intelligence plays an significant intermediary role in the impact of mobile phone dependence on the mental health.The mobile dependence can not only directly affect mental health of middle school students,but also affect their mental health through emotional intelligence.
