Research On The Issues And Countermeasures Of College Students' Voluntary Service

The 19 th National Congress of CPC proposed that "socialism with China characteristics has entered a new era",and "the aspiration of the people for a better life should be taken as a goal" as well as "the construction of good faith together with the institutionalization of voluntary service should be promoted" are new requirements and expectations for the development of voluntary service.The goal of carrying out volunteer service for colleges and universities are clearly pointed out.It is necessary to probe into the problems of undergraduate volunteer service,and put forward feasible solutions to promote its long-term development,which is important to the growth of college students,the enhancement of social responsibility,and the realization of Chinese dream.Firstly,based on the existing research results,this paper summarizes the historical development of undergraduate volunteer service,explains the meaning,characteristics and significance of it,which will provides theoretical basis for further research.Secondly,this paper adopts various research methods,including literature survey,data analysis,field research etc.,and surveys student volunteers in six universities in Hohhot.The result of survey shows that problems exist and need to be solved in the development of undergraduate volunteer service,which will be discussed in the paper.For example,some undergraduate volunteers participate in the service with utilitarianism;the volunteer service team is unstable;the service forms are single;the propaganda is not enough and the participation is weak.In order to find solutions for the problems,this paper deeply analyzes the causes of the problems,including insufficient understanding of volunteer service;lack of volunteer capacity,limited time and energy;and imperfect rules and regulations,and tries to provide effective suggestions for the healthydevelopment of undergraduate volunteer service.Finally,the author draws on the successful domestic and foreign experiences,and puts forward feasible suggestions to the problems of undergraduate volunteer service.That,by:deeping college student volunteers' understanding of voluntary service;improving the professional quality and service ability of college students volunteers;expanding the form of college students' voluntary service;developing the funding source for college students' volunteer service;improving the rules and regulations for college students' voluntary service promoting the development of information network for college students' voluntary service;and creating a better social environment for college students' voluntary service.
