Study On The Development Strategy Of Guangzhou College Of Commerce

The 13^th five-year-plan is an important period for Chinese higher education to deepen the revolution,improve the quality and to provide powerful support for the economic and social development.The State Council issued An Overall Plan to Promote the Building of a Series of World-class Universities and Disciplines,which emphasizes to explore and construct the system of modern universities with Chinese characters,to fully improve higher education quality in order to provide powerful support for the economic and social development.As an important component of higher education,private colleges play a decisive role in talent cultivation and the promotion of economic development.In recent years,private colleges are springing up which gradually exposed problems.There present a series of problems such as vague school-running orientation,imperfection of management,lack of characteristics and so on.Some problems are seriously existing in the construction of school system,the teachers'group,specialties setup,talent cultivation and the service for teaching and scientific researching.Private colleges still have problems concerning insufficiency of educational investment,the backward education facilities and lack of policy support.In recent years,the government is taking a series of measures to support and promote higher education development.Faced with the double opportunities of policy guidance and the revolution of operational mechanism,private colleges should fully develop the advantage of mechanism,vigorously deepen the internal governance structure and the reform of operational system,improve the connotative development level,enhance the social serving abilities and actively explores the new approach to the innovative development of private colleges.Through the analysis of the outside and inside environment of Guangzhou College of Commerce from the perspective of PEST,this thesis gives an overall analysis of the macro environment of it from the political,economic,geographical and technical aspects.The thesis also applies Porter's Five Forces Model to analyze its industry environment and discovers its advantages and opportunities as well as its disadvantages and threats so as to draw up the strategic targets,the implementation of strategy and safeguards of Guangzhou College of Commerce.The thesis proposes the development strategy of setting up a characteristic college,strengthening a good management college,activating an open college for it.The thesis recommends that Guangzhou College of Commerce should comply with the demand of national and regional development,optimize the distribution,deepen the reform and revolution,improve the teaching quality,strengthen the superiority characteristics and promote the opening-up and development.This thesis tries to explore a new pattern of private colleges'higher education development at a high level and proposes the strategies which have some theoretical direction and practical significance for the development of other private colleges.
